A Survey on Rotation Optimization in Structure from Motion
Abstract
We consider the problem of robust rotation optimization \nin Structure from Motion applications. A number of different \napproaches have been recently proposed, with solutions that \nare at times incompatible, and at times complementary. The \ngoal of this paper is to survey and compare these ideas in a \nunified manner, and to benchmark their robustness against \nthe presence of outliers. In all, we have tested more than \nforty variants of a these methods (including novel ones), and \nwe find the best performing combination.
