A Transformational Approach to Constructive Induction

Abstract

This paper describes an approach to constructive induction that transforms information about a search problem into a set of numeric terms that describe search states. The resulting terms are expected to be suitable for learning an evaluation function over search states because they are created directly from information about the search problem.
