THOUGHT: An Integrated Learning System for Acquiring Knowledge Structure

Abstract

Considering that knowledge has three levels: object-level knowledge, meta-level knowledge, and structure-level knowledge, we describe an integrated learning system THOUGHT to acquire the third level knowledge. Through analyzing the performance results on current knowledge bases, THOUGHT gradually constructs a new kind of knowledge structure: solution-oriented structure, which is designed to overcome some crucial shortcomings such as irreparable failure existing in some current expert systems.
