Abstract

This paper is based on a theory beini[ developed in collaboration with seymour Papert in which we view the mind as an ori[anized society of intercommunicatini[ "ai[ents". Each such al[ent is, by itself, very simple. The subjec. t of this paper is how that simplicity affects communication between different parts of a sinIlls mind and, indirectly, how it may affect inter-personal communications.
