Grammatical Relations as the Basis for Natural Language Parsing and Text Understanding

Abstract

per attempts to apply the principles of r tional grammar to the parsing of English in er to overcome the problems encountered by tactic and semantic parsers. Specifically, parser uses relational categories such as ject ♦ direct object, and instrument to map tactic constituents onto semantic roles wi CD-like structures. Thus, the parser makes of both syntactic and semantic informatio guide its parse.
